elevator9 Named Finalist for Start-up Learning Provider of the Year at The Learning Awards 2027

Recognition from the Learning and Performance Institute comes as elevator9 expands its work helping organizations turn live training into sustained application and measurable impact.

We’re excited to share that elevator9 has been shortlisted for Start-up Learning Provider of the Year at The Learning Awards 2027, presented by the Learning and Performance Institute (LPI). For our team, the recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects the problem we’ve been working to solve from the beginning:

What happens after live training ends?
Organizations invest enormous time, expertise, and resources into leadership development, sales training, professional development, and other live learning experiences. But too often, once the workshop or program ends, learners return to work and the system designed to support the learning ends with it.

elevator9 was built to help close that gap.
Our platform extends live learning through LIFTs—brief, intentionally spaced experiences that prompt people to retrieve what they learned, connect it to their work, apply it in real situations, and reflect on what happened. We also believe AI should support human thinking rather than replace it. Rather than generating the learner’s answer for them, elevator9 uses AI to ask thoughtful questions that activate retrieval, reflection, and application.

At the same time, the platform helps organizations move beyond attendance, completion, and end-of-session satisfaction by capturing evidence of what learners are actually doing with what they learned—and, where appropriate, incorporating manager or sponsor perspectives to strengthen that evidence.

“Organizations are already investing deeply in live training. The question we keep asking is what happens to that investment after everyone leaves the room. We’re building elevator9 to help turn training into traction—to make learning more durable, more applicable, and ultimately more visible in performance.
”
— David Grad, Co-Founder and CEO of elevator9

For Co-Founder and COO Dr. Page Chen, the work is also about translating decades of learning research into something practical.

“Learning science gives us strong evidence about the importance of retrieval, spacing, application, reflection, and feedback,” Chen said. “The challenge is turning those principles into an experience people will actually engage with and into evidence organizations can use. That is the problem we’re continuing to work on every day.

The 2027 Learning Awards attracted a record number of entries across its categories, with finalists now advancing to the final judging stage. Learning News elevator9 will present to the judging panel in November, with the Gold, Silver, and Bronze recipients announced at the Learning Awards ceremony in London on February 11, 2027.

We’re grateful to the Learning and Performance Institute for the recognition—and to the customers, learners, advisors, partners, and colleagues who have helped us test, challenge, and improve what we’re building.

Being shortlisted is a milestone. But the work remains the same: helping great training stick, get applied, and demonstrate the difference it makes.
