Liftology 25: The LIFT Learning Journey

We’ve talked about the value of reactivations, and detailed the variety of things that qualify. These, of course, follow a good foundation, but are necessary to successfully deliver on the promise of impact.

To start, we need to motivate the learning, and then deliver: models, examples, and practice. We also need to extend the learning in ways that are often difficult to deliver on: we may want to extend the complexity, but we definitely want to extend the practice, and segue elegantly from simulated experience to real application. We may need more models and examples along the way.

We can aggregate several of these together, and they definitely change in nature as learners develop. From initially reactivating the learning, we move to inquiring about plans, barriers, and ultimately impact. We’re collecting data as we go, as well.

Learners need a journey. Aggregating and distributing the experience in the form of LIFTs (Learning Interventions Fueling Transformation) is the ultimate goal. The mechanism is leveraging technology - computation, interaction, and distributed delivery - to do so in a way that minimizes the difficulty and maximizes the outcomes. That’s what LIFTs, and Elevator 9, are all about. We want to increase your impact, and help you document it. We think this is a viable, and valuable, solution. Thanks for joining our thinking.
